Why Does Hair Loss Occur?

There are many causes of hair loss. The most common causes of hair loss include problems related with:
• Dietary deficiencies and lifestyle (stress)
• Genetics
• Hormonal changes such as menopause and medication
• Dermatologic conditions
• Hair styling and Hair chemicals
• Hair loss is also sometimes triggered by pregnancy or an illness. It is even possible for some woman to suffer from a mental condition known as Trichillomania – in which the hair is deliberately pulled from the scalp

Most Common Hair Loss Factor

Dihydrotestosterone of DHT is a byproduct of testosterone and is to be considered public enemy number one when it comes to your hair. Simply put, DHT in certain conditions will choke off and kill your hair follicles.
Primary among those events is the metabolic conversion of the male hormone, known as Testosterone, to Dihydrotestosterone or DHT by 5-Alpha Reductase (Isonenzymes found in human which can cause hair loss). This causes the hair follicles to shrink, resulting in blood flow restriction. In conclusion, the hair follicles produce weaker and thinner hair with every new growth cycle, triggering follicles not being able to produce new hair which ultimately leads to baldness.
